OROeORA
Athens,Greece
area:50m2
Completed in November 2023
The architectural group Minas Kosmidis Architects was asked to undertake the redesign of the Oro e Ora Printezis store, a 50 m2 space in the center of Athens, which trades in the business of new and second-hand luxury watches.
Starting with the inspiration around the linearity of time and the circularity of a watch, the design principles were based on straight lines broken by circular elements.
Upon entering the store, the visitor is met by an elongated marble table on their left, which serves for the presentation of the products, while a bookcase is placed behind it, along the height of the left wall, part of which functions as a display that also houses various objects, working as a form of cabinet de curiosities.
A second level of a more private character is formed with a circular shape on the right of the entrance. At the center of it, a circular marble table is placed for the presentation of samples, while the split formation of the wall in the perimeter of the level allows simultaneously view and isolation.
The marble and the wood combined with the leather surfaces and the bronze elements make up the basic material palette and the background that is meant to highlight the products.
The intent for this project was the creation of a space that will immerse the visitor in a narrative, allowing them to discover pieces of it in different parts of the space.
